A beautifully timeworn chest, solidly constructed in pine and built for working life. Made with hand cut dove tail joints, retaining its original heavy iron strap hinges and forged iron handles on each side. The surface shows decades of honest wear, revealing layered patina and texture with an original painted letter C to the back, a simple yet striking typographic detail that adds identity.
Deep and practical inside, it was originally made to house tools but now works beautifully as a blanket chest, boot room storage, a coffee table or end of bed piece.
Substantial in weight and presence, this is a true working piece which we have treated and left in its dry state, authentic, and full of history.
